Al Furqaan

Islamic Centre

Background

The Al-Furqaan Islamic Centre was established in 1992 and became the “Jewel of the South”, arranging and facilitating youth-based leadership training camps in the country. This centre has served as a beacon for education and empowerment over the years, providing a home for orphans, madrassah classes to hundreds of children in the community, hosting empowerment workshops and agricultural initiatives and serving as a base from which AMA has supported the local community.

Masjid Projects in Malawi

Provide Hope to a community.

Masjid
The masjid at Al-Furqaan provides a safe space for the local community to gather and pray, building a spirit of unity and Islam within Finetown.  During Ramadaan, the masjid is at its busiest, with lively taraweeh salaahs as the community gathers for iftaar at the centre, often served by AMA volunteers during this blessed month.  Donate towards the maintenance and preservation of this significant masjid: R5000
Empower SA Hub
The Al-Furqaan centre serves as the hub of AMA’s operations within South Africa.  It is the space in which thousands of food hampers, ramadaan packs, blankets and more are packed every year, before leaving Jhb on  journeys that uplift communities across SA. The Al Furqaan Centre employs local Finetown and Jhb residents, creating employment and hope in the poverty-stricken community.  You can support our work in SA by donating towards the maintenance and upkeep of this facility: R1000 or any amount
