Syria
Emergency Response
Background
Years of war have left Syria depleted in resources and thousands of families struggling to survive.
Thousands more have become refugees, some of whom are now returning to Syria to abandoned homes.
Assist the people of Syria.
AMA is providing food and essentials to families in Syria, both returning refugee families and those who have stayed in Syria throughout the conflict in the country.
The economic crisis means that accessing basic needs is extremely difficult for most Syrians and AMA teams are providing food and essentials and will continue to monitor the situation and provide those items which are needed most.
Orphan Hope
Many of the refugee children sponsored through AMA’s orphan hope project in Lebanon are Syrian nationals who have returned to their home country. AMA remains committed to supporting and uplifting these children, who face equally challenging, if not worse, conditions in Syria.
What we are providing:
- Clothes
- Cash
- Stationery
- Essentials e.g. medicine
Bread of Hope
With hunger remaining a critical need for many families in Syria, AMA 1000 packs of bread per day. Each family receives a pack containing 12 loaves of local pita bread.
Home Rehabilitation
Years of conflict have destroyed many areas in Syria, and refugee families returning from other countries find broken, uninhabitable homes.
What we are providing:
- Rehabilitation to partially destroyed homes
- Changing windows
- Aluminum doors
- Replacing doors with wooden doors
- Repairing cracked walls
- Painting
- Repair stairs
- Reconnection to water supply
Masjid Rehabilitation
Many masaajid in Syria have been completely destroyed over the years, removing the centre of worship and community cohesion.
AMA is assisting with the renovations of masaajid, including Al-Othman Mosque and Khadijatul Kubra Masjid, which serve thousands of people.
Earn Thawaab-e-Jaariyah by reconstructing these masaajid and giving back hope to communities which have lost so much.
